Lee County Attorney’s Office

The Lee County Attorney has the following responsibilities:
  • Representing the state in prosecuting misdemeanor criminal cases
  • Working with law enforcement officers in the investigation of criminal cases
  • Providing legal advice to the Commissioners Court and to other elected officials
  • Bringing civil enforcement actions on behalf of the state or county
Also, because Lee County does not have a dedicated “district attorney,” the County Attorney represents the State in district courts by: 
  • Representing the state in prosecuting felony criminal cases
  • Presenting cases to the grand jury
  • Representing victims of violence in protective orders
  • Representing the state in Child Protective Services cases
